I’m a relational and rigorous editor.
I have a PhD in English Literature from the University of Toronto and wrote a dissertation on the Victorian novel. At the moment, I’m more interested in images of trash in Canadian poetry (yep—odd). I have taught a wide variety of literature, writing, and rhetoric courses at the university level, ranging from Arthurian Legend to Canadian and Indigenous Literatures, and I have a strong background in critical theory. I know how writing works, and I know how argument works. My favourite part of teaching, though, has always been helping students improve their writing. I edit friends’ poetry for fun, I lead a writing group of beautiful creatives, and I enjoy reading textbooks on rhetoric (yep—odd).
As extensions of my academic work, editing and coaching enable me to serve a larger community. Helping people develop great ideas or streamline a paragraph excites my passion. When I encounter stories and arguments in daily life, I constantly imagine how they might be structured and styled for their target audience.
I am a teacher, coach, and mentor who loves working with words and people.
